Information
Alvis Speed 25 SB Saloon
Coachwork by Charlesworth
Car no18478, Body no14165
The car was originally bought by William McCall in 1937. According to family recollection, McCall once came home having purchased a brand-new Rolls-Royce, much to the displeasure of his wife, Gertrude, who refused to be driven in one. She insisted he return it, so he did, and replaced it with this Alvis Speed 25 Saloon, FPE 6. She must have approved, as it became the couple’s only car.
