initially slated to compete with AMC power before AMC’s retreat from the deal left the car to instead enter the 1970 season with a Chevrolet engine. After five starts with Dave Jordan at the wheel, the car was fitted with a Ford engine for end-of-season testing and was borrowed by Junor-Tarozzi Engineering, who installed a Plymouth V8. With Swede Savage at the wheel, the car made its next start at the 1971 Questor Grand Prix in Ontario, where it collided with a concrete barrier and reportedly incurred heavy damage to its right side. The remains of the car were returned to Crean, who kept the chassis near a barn at his San Juan Capistrano ranch for several years before selling it to former AAR fabricator Tom Beauchamp Sr. The chassis remained in Beauchamp’s yard until his 2000 passing, after which it was purchased by the seller, who, along with Beauchamp’s son, completed a refurbishment of the car in Colorado Springs between 2006 and 2012. Following completion of the project, the car was driven by the seller at a vintage racing event at Pikes Peak International Raceway in 2012.
