'At 9:37 am on Saturday 12 May, Pollard hit the wall coming out of Turn 1, spun through the short chute grass, overturned and ended up back upright in Turn 2. The car was completely demolished in the accident. Pollard suffered burns on his hands, face and neck and was rushed to hospital, where he died an hour later due to flame inhalation.' - Old Racing Cars
