The Ogliastro Collection

Monflanquin, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France
About
The Ogliastro Collection, assembled by Hervé and Martine Ogliastro, focused on rare and historically significant European automobiles from the early 20th century through the 1970s. Notable cars included a 1901 De Dion Bouton Type G, a 1935 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante Découvrable, a 1936 Delahaye 135 Sport Roadster by Figoni & Falaschi, and a 1968 Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada, among others. Many of these vehicles remained in the collection for decades, were expertly restored, and featured at major events such as the Bagatelle concours and Rétromobile auction in 2017
Bio
Hervé Ogliastro was a French automotive collector and enthusiast, descended from the Vuitton family. Introduced to automotive culture early, he attended the first Rétromobile show in 1976 and later became involved with organizing the event. He and his wife Martine built a collection featuring French classics and Italian GTs, with a passion for vehicles with competition history. Ogliastro personally drove in racing events including the Paris-Deauville, which he won several times.
He collaborated with respected restorers like Diomante and André Lecoq; notably, his Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada was acquired in 1990 (chassis IA3 0309), meticulously restored, and presented in concours from 1997 onwards. He also co-founded the Centre International de l'Automobile (CIA) museum in Pantin with Lecoq and Jean-Pierre Beltoise in 1989.
