The Carroll Foundation Collection
Newmarket, England, United Kingdom
About
Gerald Carroll (b.1951) was the (proclaimed self-made) head of the Carroll Global Corporation, a diversified holding company with worldwide business interests and net assets of an estimated £250 million.
In addition to his businesses, Carroll had interests in horse racing and supercars, maintaining a substantial private collection at his Warren Park estate. Said collection featured a notable array of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin models, usually bearing registration plates featuring ‘GJC’.
However, despite the momentous expansion of the Carroll group, debts began to pile up. By 1995, the assets were either declared insolvent or sold off, and Carroll himself declared personal bankruptcy.
Following the collapse, Carroll has campaigned to have the disillusion recognised as a fraud. The internet is littered with sites and blogs spewing ‘evidence’ of this, but no one is yet been prosecuted.
