Bio
Edgar Bensoussan (born 27 October 1919, Oran died 11 February 2014, Paris) was a decorated French aviator, Resistance fighter and classic-car aficionado. He served with the Free French Air Forces during World War II and held the rank of lieutenant pilot in the Royal Air Force . After the war, he lived in Paris—where he built a deep passion for early aviation history and automotive heritage. He built a creer in this industry as he became a mechanic and broker for sports cars.
In addition to collecting aviation memorabilia—such as watches, medals, and documents tied to pioneers like Saint‑Exupéry and Mermoz—he also amassed a select group of high-end automobiles. This included rare models from Bugatti, Ferrari, and Lamborghini, which he maintained and presented at concours d’élégance events.
