Pierre Noblet's Car Collection

Roubaix, Hauts-de-France, France
About
Pierre Noblet was among the most accomplished French gentleman drivers of the early 1960s, and his private collection reflected both his deep technical understanding of GT machinery and his relentless pursuit of endurance racing success. Focused almost exclusively on Ferrari’s most potent competition berlinettas of the era, Noblet’s garage was as competitive on the circuit as it was significant in automotive history.
Bio
Pierre Noblet (1921 2005) was a French industrialist and one of the most successful privateer racing drivers of the early 1960s. Though he never pursued a full professional racing career, Noblet's name became synonymous with Ferrari’s golden era of GT competition thanks to his consistent performances at endurance events across Europe.
His motorsport journey began in the late 1950s under the pseudonym 'Pertin,' often appearing alongside another privateer, Jean Guichet. Noblet quickly gained recognition for his skill behind the wheel of Ferrari GT cars, most notably the 250 GT 'Tour de France', the 250 GT SWB, and later the iconic 250 GTO. He was not merely a collector but a driver who raced his cars at the highest level—often in direct competition with factory teams. He took part in numerous races, including several appearances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 1960 and 1966.
