Jay Kay's Car Collection
London, England, United Kingdom
About
The car collection of singer-songwriter Jay Kay of Jamiroquai fame.
Bio
Jay Kay is the frontman and founder of the highly popular jazz fusion group Jamiroquai.
His love affair with all things motorcars can be traced to the long road trips across the UK Kay took, as he followed his mother (also a jazz musician) as she performed at various shows.
Kay's taste in cars evidently has rubbed off on the band's music - the album cover of the 1996 album Travelling Without Moving features a cover with a play on the Ferrari logo, replacing the Cavallino Rampante with the iconic Jamiroquai logo.
His cars have also featured across many of the band's music videos, 275 GTB/4 in Cloud 9, 1973 2.7 Carrera RS in White Knuckle Ride & most notably, his SE30 Diablo battling against fellow musician Nick Mason of Pink Floyd fame's F40 (although this SE30 has faced a fate with Kay famously wrecking it).
Kay's taste in cars is typically that of Ferrari, Porsche, Bentley and Audi, and even Lamborghini produced over a wide time period from 1930s Bentleys to his bright green LaFerrari.
Kay has featured numerous times on Top Gear's famed Star in a Reasonably Priced Car segment, in which he topped the leaderboard.
